For AI SaaS companies
AI margin calculator
Three numbers from last month tell you your margin once AI is counted. One assumption shows what your heaviest customers do to it, and what each fix would be worth.

From last month
Count each paying account once, however many users it has. Leave out trials and accounts that paid nothing last month.Customers who paid you last month.
Last month's revenue from these customers, divided by how many there are. Spread an annual plan over 12 months, and use what they paid after discounts.$What a customer pays you per month, on average.
Add up the invoices from every model provider you call, in US dollars, for the same month as your customers and price. Count model usage only, not hosting or other cloud costs.$The sum of last month's model provider invoices.
The share of what a customer pays that you want left once their AI cost is paid. At 70%, a customer paying $100 a month can use up to $30 of AI.%The margin you want to keep after AI costs.
What your invoice can't tell you
Your assumptionPicture your heaviest tenth of customers by AI use: what share of the AI bill do they cause? At 50%, they cause half of it and the other 90% share the rest. Not sure? The table at the bottom shows the results at other shares.%A guess is fine; the results show what changes if it is wrong. 10% would mean everyone uses AI equally.
Your numbers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.
Your results appear hereEnter last month's paying customers, average price and AI bill. You'll see your margin once AI is counted, what your heaviest customers do to it, and what each way to close the gap is worth.
Stop guessing the splitYour provider invoice shows one total. CoreValue puts each request's cost against the customer it served and, with what you charge them, shows every customer's revenue, AI cost and margin, so the top-10% figure above becomes a measured one. A margin floor can alert you, or refuse a customer's requests, when their margin falls below it; a monthly budget per customer can move them to a cheaper model instead.
How this is worked out
Margin is price minus AI cost, as a share of price. The AI bill is split so that your top 10% of customers carry the share you entered and everyone else shares the rest equally. The most a customer can cost at your target is price times one minus the target. Only AI costs are counted; hosting, support and other costs are not.
